It doesn’t matter where you’re from, what you believe in, who you voted for as an American. Some moments bring the world together and that was one of them.
I personally don’t agree with all of Obama’s policies, but I agree with the message he gave the world in his acceptance speech: peace, liberty, and hope for the future …
Those are ideas we can *all* get behind.

After one of the most publicized election season in the history of US and the world, Democratic frontrunner Senator Barack Obama was elected as the 44th President of the United States of America after getting 349 electoral votes against the 162 electoral votes Republican nominee Senator John McCain received.
Forty-seven-year old Obama is the first African American to win presidency in US history. In his first speech as president-elect delivered before a crowd of 125,000 people at Grant Park in Chicago, Obama said that change has come to America, ““If there is anyone out there who doubts that America is a place where anything is possible, who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time, who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer,” he said.
On the other hand, McCain accepted his defeat and even called Obama to congratulate him as mentioned by Obama during his address with his supporters in Arizona. “The American people have spoken, and they have spoken clearly,” he said in his speech. McCain also called for unity and expressed support for Obama “We both recognize that though we have come a long way from the old injustices that once stained our nation’s reputation and denied some Americans the full blessings of American citizenship, the memory of them still have the power to wound…Let there be no reason for any American to fail to cherish their citizenship in this, the greatest nation on Earth,” McCain said.
Considered as the factors for Obama’s victory where his wins in Florida, a controversial and sought after state in recent elections; Ohio, where incumbent President George W. Bush won twice; Colorado, home of the religious right and Virginia, ending the 40 years streak of Republican victories.

What is a Life Coach and What is Life Coaching
A life coach is a new breed of professionals aimed at helping people in any aspects of their lives. They are there to aid people change and make improvements in their lives. Life coaching is the process practiced by life coaches. It has stemmed from other executive coaching with techniques rooted on leadership training and management consulting. Life coaching is also based on different disciplines which include psychology, sociology, career counseling, mentoring, and positive adult development.
In life coaching there are several techniques that life coaches use to help their clients. Most of the common techniques are behavior modification, values assessment, behavior modeling, goal setting, and mentoring. Techniques and methods also vary from client to client. It is based through the assessment of the life coach whether which method would be best utilized for a client.
Improving Business Through Life Coaching
A life coach can make improvements in a business by coaching the employees that work under it. This is usually the trend of companies nowadays. It has been observed that employees, especially those who have been working under the company for a long time, experience a downfall in performance. This can be caused by different reasons which include low motivation and stagnancy.
With the help of a life coach, these employees, including the bosses, can be revitalized to work more efficiently. And people working efficiently would mean better business.
A life coach will slightly use a different method when handling groups. Most often than not, activities will be based on groups and team work which will be geared towards the kind of business or industry the company is in.
But it is not only during the downfall when life coaches become needed by the company. They are also needed when a new departments are formed, inspiration before presentation of a proposal, or for team building.
It can’t be denied that life coaching does have a big impact in the corporate world. Life coaching and business truly is a perfect match.

(CNN) — Barack Obama told supporters that “change has come to America” as he claimed victory in a historic presidential election.
“The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even one term, but America — I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you — we as a people will get there,” Obama said in Chicago, Illinois, before an estimated crowd of up to 240,000 people.
With Obama’s projected win, he will become the first African-American to win the White House.
Obama had an overwhelming victory over Sen. John McCain, who pledged Tuesday night to help Obama lead.
“Today, I was a candidate for the highest office in the country I love so much, and tonight, I remain her servant,” McCain said.
McCain called Obama to congratulate him, and Obama told the Arizona senator he was eager to sit down and talk about how the two of them can work together.
President Bush also called Obama to offer his congratulations.
Bush told Obama he was about to begin one of the great journeys of his life, and invited him to visit the White House as soon as it could be arranged, according to White House spokeswoman Dana Perino.
Obama will be working with a heavily Democratic Congress. Democrats picked up Senate seats in New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina and Virginia, among others.
“While the Democratic Party has won a great victory tonight, we do so with a measure of humility and determination to heal the divides that have held back our progress,” Obama said.
Flanked by American flags, Obama told the roaring crowd, “This is your victory.”
“To those Americans whose support I have yet to earn — I may not have won your vote, but I hear your voices, I need your help, and I will be your president too,” he said.
Supporters in Chicago cheering, “Yes, we can” were met with cries of “Yes, we did.”
More than 1,000 people gathered outside of the White House, chanting “Obama, Obama!”
Sen. Hillary Clinton, Obama’s former rival for the Democratic nomination, said in a statement that “we are celebrating an historic victory for the American people.”
“This was a long and hard fought campaign but the result was well worth the wait. Together, under the leadership of President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and a Democratic Congress, we will chart a better course to build a new economy and rebuild our leadership in the world.”
Sen. Ted Kennedy said Americans “spoke loud and clear” in electing Obama.
“They understood his vision of a fairer and more just America and embraced it. They heard his call for a new generation of Americans to participate in government and were inspired. They believed that change is possible and voted to be part of America’s future,” the Massachusetts senator said in a statement.
As results came in Tuesday night, Obama picked up early wins in Pennsylvania and Ohio — states considered must-wins for McCain.
Obama also won Virginia, a state that has not voted for a Democratic president since 1964.
Going into the election, national polls showed Obama with an 8-point lead.
Voters expressed excitement and pride in their country after casting their ballots in the historic election. Poll workers reported high turnout across many parts of the country, and some voters waited hours to cast their ballots.
Tuesday marks the end of the longest presidential campaign season in U.S. history — 21 months.
Obama, 47, will now begin his transition to the White House. He will be sworn in at the 44th president on January 20, 2009.
